Ingredients

Cornstarch

Cream of tartar

Flavoring: rose, mastic, strawberry, orange or lemon
Food coloring (choice depends on flavoring used)

Toasted nuts, pistachios or almonds, chopped

Directions

  1. confectioner's sugar for dusting Dissolve sugar and cornstarch in water.
  2. Add cream of tartar.
  3. Boil to 220F.
  4. Cover pot the last 5 minutes.
  5. Add flavor and food color.
  6. Add nuts.
  7. Pour into oiled shallow pan.
  8. When cool, cut into squares and roll each piece in sifted powdered sugar.
  9. Store in plastic bag.
