Shepherdess Pie Recipe

Ingredients

Heat-N-serve sausage patties

All purpose flour

Water

Env. vegetable soup mix ( 2 to a pkg. )

Hot mashed potatoes
½
c
Crumbled whole wheat wafers

Directions

  1. Cut each sausage patty into about 10 small pieces; brown, stirring frequently, in a medium sized skillet.
  2. Blend in flour; cook stirring constantly, just until bubbly.
  3. Stir in water and soup mix; continue cooking and stirring until gravy thickens ans boils 5 minutes.
  4. Line bottom ans sides of a buttered deep 6-cup baking dish with 3 cups of the mashed potatoes.
  5. Spoon in sausage and gravy; spoon remining potatoes in mounds over top; sprinkle with crumbled wafers.
  6. Bake in moderate oven ( 350 degrees F. ) 45 minutes or until bubbly hot.
  7. Sprinkle with finely cut parsley if you wish.
